Computer scientist (Diplom-Informatiker), software architect and managing director of Kai Schmudlach Consulting GmbH. For over 25 years I have been building software, leading projects and moving teams forward. Today mostly where technology, responsibility and people come together.

My path

From research to consulting

I studied computer science at the University of Bremen and then worked in EU research projects on augmented and virtual reality. There I learned to bring complex technology into practice with international teams and to supervise staff on technical matters.

After that I founded: with my team I brought digipen, the first commercial digital-pen-and-paper solution in Germany, to market, led development teams and built partner and sales networks. In 2010 I founded a start-up in Brazil, a chapter that gave me intercultural practice.

Since 2010 I have been consulting independently, and since 2024 as Kai Schmudlach Consulting GmbH: as architect, developer, project lead and product owner, in energy, healthcare, insurance, public sector and industry. Sometimes I rescue a stalled project, sometimes I build a development team, sometimes I write the decisive code myself. Since 2022 AI has come into play: I develop my own agent and RAG solutions and bring them into your projects as well.

When technology, deadlines and people conflict, I look for the solution everyone can keep working with in the end.

From Bremen to Berlin

    bendit GmbH founded

    The start as an entrepreneur in Bremen.

  2. 2010

    Going freelance

    KSC founded as an independent consultancy, initially in Bremen.

  3. 2015

    Move to Berlin

    The consultancy moves to Berlin.

    Change from freelancer to limited company (GmbH).
